The following WordPress blocks are available to you through the Mizzou Base Theme.  To learn more about how to work with each block, please follow the links below to the official WordPress documentation.

Text

  1. Paragraph Block: The Paragraph block is the default block type for text added to the editor. It is probably the block you will use most.
  2. Heading Block: Headings can help structure your page and make your content more readable by humans as well as search engines.
  3. List Block: Use the List block to create a bulleted or numbered list.
  4. Quote Block: Adding quotes can help you highlight great reviews from your audience or phrases that inspire you.
  5. Table Block:  The Table Block allows you to easily create a table in any post or page.
  6. Preformatted Block: Allows you to add text to a post or page that is displayed exactly as you type it.
  7. Pullquote Block: If you want to add emphasis to a piece of text in your post or page, the pullquote block can quickly and easily make short snippets look beautiful.
  8. Verse Block: Ideal for writing poetry on your site.

Media

  1. Image Block: Use the Image block to insert an image onto your page or post.
  2. Media & Text Block: Use the Media & Text block to place an image or video side-by-side with text.
  3. Cover Block: Displays an image or video that you can add text and other content on top of — great for headers and other banner-style displays.
  4. Gallery Block: Use the Gallery block to display multiple photos together. The Gallery block contains individual Image blocks for each image and arranges them attractively.

Design

  1. Group Block: The Group block is a block that groups other blocks together inside one container. Think of it as a “parent” block that can hold multiple “child” blocks within it.
  2. Buttons Block: Prompt visitors to take action with a button-style link.
  3. Columns Block: Allows you to insert text, media and other types of content into up to six columns.

  1. Embed Block: Use the Embed block to insert content from other online services into the pages and posts of your site.
  2. YouTube Block: The YouTube block allows you to embed YouTube videos into your posts and pages.
  3. Vimeo Block: The Vimeo Block allows you to embed Vimeo videos into your posts and pages.
